Hi Sherry I was inspired today when I read this I know your sadness and feel your pain. So I turned what you wrote into a song I will leave it to you to put the music and may need to adjust the words to suit your own style.

And Many times I feel so sad inside

Because of the loss of the things I’ve left behind

i sometimes think that the worst pain is not giving in, that would be so much easier
