I was going to post the link here, but you can just go over to my profile and find it in 2 secs. So did Atilla, but over on her other blog.

I just wanted to say that I am SO happy for you! Have I told you that I want to be a Child Life Specialist? I hope to find a hospital for my 4mo clinical internship that is as accommodating as yours. You would think that w/in the profession of child life people would adapt w/o thinking twice about it, but from what I hear, that is not always the case. It's a crap shoot...

I'm petrified about babies too. I dread working during RSV season b/c I can't pick them up either. Even if I'm sitting down.

re: DRVSS, NLD, the disability I don't officially have

This is an absolutely fascinating entry. You're so courageous! (couldn't resist!) Seriously, you're an excellent writer; I hope you write more.

I enjoyed reading your experiences. I know, to you it's the story of your life, or a part of it anyway. I found it quite stimulating; part mystery, part comedy and part drama. Whew, thankfully the heroine comes throught successfully, conquering the forces of evil. You've really brought your life story to life. Now you've got to continue, so I and others can marvel at your adventures. I know I'll be waiting. I don't see any problem with cross-posting,and have been doing so with DISALIFE.

Read you soon,

Bruce

Good neuropsychological testing should be able to diagnose NLD. It costs $$ though. I haven't looked at the literature, but I know there are some good groups online, like www.nldontheweb.org.

I'm not in any great rush to get a diagnosis at this point because it wouldn't change anything, you know?

Did you ever end up finding any "tip sheets" for auditory learners, or are most tips out there about visual learning? It seems like from what you said that it can be difficult to get a concrete diagnosis of NLD, so is there much literature out there about helping those who may have it? Just curious!
