These are true stories of what goes on behind the scenes at the Advocacy Center. Names have been removed to protect privacy. A client, who is blind, was routinely subjected to inappropriate comments from coworkers. These comments were not addressed by superiors after he complained. The client was also offered accommodations that were later withdrawn. The client then filed an U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint with the help of the Advocacy Center. The client was awarded $9,250 at arbitration. The client plans use this money to move his residence which will save him $300 to $400 per month on transportation
