According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Aging, the theme of this year’s Older Americans Month is “Working Together for Strong, Healthy and Supportive Communities”. For more information and materials, check out their Web site.

The Advocacy Center provides free legal services to residents 60 years and older of Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Tammany Parishes (counties) who need legal assistance with issues of abuse/neglect, accessibility, age discrimination, assistive technology, financial entitlements, health care, legal status, long term care, and public housing. The Advocacy Center also advocates for the rights of group home and nursing home residents. Contact us today if you need help or for more information.

    Tim,

Check with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on how they define "Older American". If you are age 60 or older and a resident of either Orleans, Plaquemines or St. Tammany parishes in Louisiana, then you can qualify for our services"
