I read fellow blogger Leopercipied's post earlier tonight---where he talked about how the Chicago suburbs are cracking down on the non-disabled taking advantage of parking in the handicapped spots. Ironically, I'd just read an article (complete with videos) about celebrity scofflaws.

Apparently, "America's Sweetheart" Julia Roberts and hubby Danny Moder were filmed parking in a handicapped space in front of a local supermarket in their area. Although Ms. Roberts might be used to "Everyone Saying I Love You", it's not a "Conspiracy Theory" to say that she gave onlookers "Something to Talk About".

Maybe she gets a lot of "Satisfaction" and "Loves Trouble" by creating controversy. Who knows?

From the video, it seems like although some of the onlookers wanted to be "Friends", several were quite indignant about the couple's use of the handicapped parking.

I don't get it. If you're super rich and famous and want to be anonymous, why not just send the "staff" to pick up your incidentals? Don't tell me that the Moder's don't have a single soul on hand who can't run out to shop.

If you're super rich and famous and want to live under the illusion that you're "just like the regular peeps", then why park in a handicapped space? Are the disabled not "regular peeps" in your idea of the food chain? Is there something extra-special about you that makes you more entitled?

And did you think that the rest of the world wouldn't notice and be a little pissy about it? Way to go with blending in with the rest of the non-celebs, Ms. Roberts.

Just yesterday I called the cops for a moron parked without a tag in the handicapped spot. At least 3 other vehicles with placards/tags were parked or trying to park elsewhere! This is just one thing that really gets my goat!!

Wow, awesome post and great video link. Although I sometimes get annoyed with TMZ saturating us with lame celebrity coverage, they finally proved to have some value by catching Mrs. Roberts in the act. Maybe next time she'll think twice about parking in a disabled spot.

Also, very clever use of her movie titles!
