Project Lifesaver is a tracking system based on a signal transmitted by bracelets. The bracelets will be worn by people enrolled in the program because they are at risk of wandering. Alzheimer's, autistic and Down syndrome patients, as well as people who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, can be considered at higher risk for wandering from their homes or health care facilities.
The project is a relief to some families with small children and the elderly who wear the bracelets, allowing them to zone in on missing people, minimizing the time it takes to find them.
Project Lifesaver is used by 726 agencies in 42 states across the country.
