Now it's beginning to depress me using the grandma part. So, I wish my new screen name to be Debbylou and there is a story to that name too. When I was married, I had the most adorable father-in-law named Lou. After Michael was born and started saying his first words, he alled my father-in-law Peepa Lou. My husband's name was Steve and I decided to call him Stevielou. He liked that. So I had tee shirts made up with "Peepa Lou" for my father-in-law. The one I had made for Stve had "Da Da" on the back just like Michael pronounced it. Well at the present time I miss my father-in-law a lot. He's gone now. I find myself attached to the name or nickname "lou". So for fun and just for a change I am requesting that my screen name grandmadeb be changed to Debbylou in honor of such a nice guy with a great sense of humor! I know this can be a jolt for some of us who can't remember stuff and have cloudy thinking. Watch, you al will probably remember the Debbylou and I'll wonder "Who???" Just making a funny. I filled out that page they show you when you want to chanhe yourscreen name and I guess it will take some time for all of this to fall in place. Thanks to all of you for yur patience. Gentle Hugs, Debbylou

Loving pet owners come forth

Hi. This is Grandmadeb with fibromyalgia. I recently saw a copy of a message that "Rabbitlady" wrote about her love for her rabbit and how her rabbit helps her get through the day. Well, in my case my pets are 2 precious parakeets that are a joy to listen to and watch them do funny antics. I've had them for a few years now, so we know each other so well. When I have to lie down and have quiet time, they actually go quiet and won't make a sound until they realize I feel better. Loving them and surprising them with a new toy now and then is a real party for the three of us. They love it when I read to them. They don't like my singing voice so much. But, they do stare at me when I do a rendition of "How much is that "birdy" in the window? I sing that to them often. Well, I had the 50's channel going on the radio and sure enough the song about the "Doggie in the window" came on. They went crazy because they remembered that same tune I sing to them. They were jumping from perch to perch all over therir large cage and doing ther "helicopter" with theirt wings. (They like to flutter their wings when they are real happy). Anyways, I felt a strong connection to my fellow fibro conrad who calls herself "Rabbitlady" because she is on the same wave length with her beloved pet to help her cope with the bad days of fibro. I'm happy to know of you "Rabbitlady" and share your happiness with such a wonderful pet. Maybe we'll find each other and chat. My granddaughter, Rebecca did not stop chattering from the moment she woke up to the moment she fell asleep at night. Well, here comes the story. Rebecca was four years old and was "helping" me cook and bake for my family. There was a small tv in the kitchen which was usually left on. When the O.J. Simpson trial was on I was fascinated by it. So, with Rebecca's chattering I told her we would play a game called "talkie-talkie". It went like this. When the trial had a commercial break it was her job to talk to me about anything she wanted to. Usually we would laugh at ourselves. Her little voice still rings in my head when I remember her calling, "Grandmadeb! Grandmadeb! You see, her other grandma was called GrandmaNancy!
