More thought on Spina Bifida

5/13/2008 at 03:54 AM

If I can help anyone that knows someone with Spina Bifida or has a child with it by answering any questions or by talking of any concerns, please contact me.  Some advice I have is treat people (especially children) "normal".  Let them experience life, make mistakes, & become independent well developed adults.  Health issues:  Keep an eye out for open sores, and if you have any, get them treated right away by a wound specialist so they don't get the best of you later.  Also, I think it's a good idea to have blood tests run to make sure you have good kidney function.  It seems that kidney problems seem to occur to people with Spina Bifida
