Thank you Disaboom!

This will come as no surprise: I am totally obsessed with the Roomba. When I turn it on to clean I follow it around like a dog just to watch it. Kind of defeats the purpose. It really works! I had it on for about half an hour before it needed to be emptied. We had, um, kind of been behind in vacuuming that week. I've emptied it once more (also had the floors totally mopped and vacuumed in between) and it is amazing at picking up the hair. I had NO idea how much hair there was in this house. I knew there was a lot, I just had no idea how much there is on a daily basis. 4 dogs and 4 cats take their toll.

I had my students over on Saturday; that's always fun. I made them a big pot of mushroom soup, we made a fire outside and just visited. They are such good kids. One of my former students came with his girlfriend who is taking my class this semester; he's Ron Paul's godson. Can you imagine my surprise to learn that he has left the libertarian fold and come closer to the dark side? I am taking full credit for that, even though he didn't give me credit. It's mine, I tell you! Seriously, though, he did tell me that before my class he was certain of things being HIS way and no other. Now, he considers all sides and recognizes the validity of other points of view. It has made him a more tolerant and open minded person. That is the entire reason I love teaching. I swear, it's like a drug.
