Anybody w/ any type of chronic pain- PLEASE write 2 me. I am having an especially HARD time accepting, & dealing w/ all of this; ESPECIALLY w/ NOONE 2 talk 2 about it!!!! I feel very alone, and 2 be honest;very scared as well. The neurosurgeons I have seen[8 so far!], all want 2 perform 2surgeries[ 1 that is spost 2 be very risky]. And I am freakin' out a little! To make matters WORSE, noone is treating my pain sufficiently and I'm MISERABLE!!!!!The pain is unbearable!!!I have severe spinal cord compression, fibromyagia, arthritis,+degenerative disc disease, carpral tunnel w/tenditis in b/ wrists, scoliosis,CFS,& several other problems!! If ANYONE can please find the time to write to me, I would really , really, appreciate it!Thanx & God Bless.PEACE. Love, Miss Pamm.xoxo

    Miss Pamm,

I am so sorry you are suffering so much...read my blog - 'diagnosis of fibromyalgia or not'...and check out my profile...you'll see I can really relate to chronic pain and chronic illness.  I struggle with it daily too.  I opted to have spinal surgery to alleviate nerve compression, ruptured disks, remove abnormal bone formations that were impinging nerves and to open up my spinal canal due to spinal stenosis.  I've had 2 - cervical spine surgery and lumbar spine surgery.  I did recieve pain relief eventually, after some healing...I still have pain issues, but they use to be a 10...now they're usually a 5...I was also 'diagnosed' with fibromyalgia...and that's not what I had at all...as you'll see from my blogs...but I also have hand, wrist, shoulder, knee and foot pain daily...so I can really empathize with your suffering. I've found that not many people I thought were 'friends' over the long-haul remained friends because my continued suffering and sickness was 'too much' for most of them...so, I know the emotional devastation of abandonment when one is at their most vulnerable and feeling the most alone...what has begun to be really important to me in coping is developing a relationship with my 'Higher Power', my God...prayer...sometimes just screaming my God's name out is all I can manage...but...that relationship has really helped me to cope...also...searching the internet for support web-sites for my various issues has helped and getting involved in a Pain Clinic that I feel safe in...finding the good pain clinic and a good physician took 11 years...but I kept looking and have finally been graced with someone, who is not only my doctor, but a fellow sufferer...All I can say, is don't give up...hang in there...even if it is only one minute at a time...and know that someone out here hears your pain and holds you close in her heart.
