Harry Kopenis, 71, foreground, standing; Kevin Lamb, 56, background, sitting in his powerchair. Picture this: Two senior citizens are at an ATM to withdraw money, one of the men using an electric wheelchair, the other a stroke survivor taking a cocktail of prescription medications. A 22-year-old woman knocks the stroke survivor to the ground, and takes his $100.00.

Two elderly men were robbed, end of story, right? Wrong.

Harry Kopenis, 71, was robbed in Central Pennsylvania this week, but he and Kevin Lamb, 56, didn't take the theft lying down. Both men took off in hot pursuit of the alleged thief. Harry tackled her and knocked her to the ground, and Kevin, from his powerchair, grabbed her legs and kept her immobilized until police arrived.

Police charged Erin Vanmatre, of Kingston, with robbery, harassment and other offenses. Vanmatre, who was on probation for conspiracy to commit theft, was locked up on $10,000 bail.

"Maybe she thought I was easy prey. She didn't think I was going to get her. Well, senior citizens aren't easy prey," Kopenis said.

Look out, Pennsylvania thieves: Harry and Kevin, two of the biggest badasses since Buster Martin ran the London Marathon, are here, they're senior citizens, and they'll lay the beat down on any whippersnapper who tries to take advantage of the "vulnerable elderly."
