Hello! And welcome to my Least Favorite Holiday!
Now please don't take me for an unpatriotic soul. No, I am all for Patriotism and Independence and Go America! I'm just not a huge fan of the manner in which we Americans celebrate the birth of our country.
Big, not-so-secret reveal time: I don't like fire crackers.
Sparklers and virtually noiseless fireworks? Fine! Pretty! Spectacular, even!
Booming, ear splitting blasts of hundreds of fire crackers going off in rapid succession? Not so awesome. At least not for my sensitive ears.
As with my dislike of thunder, I have - over the years - gotten a tad bit more used to all the noise. But still, you won't find me at any big community celebration this year. Or ever, for that matter.
I do love how pretty fireworks are, though. I hope we're able to see some tomorrow night from our yard. Set off far enough from us that the noise is almost nothing. But close enough to show Sweetie the beautiful show.

Well......if you're brave enough to admit it.......guess I'll have to do the same. At the risk of being called a baa-hum-bug person...........the noise really bothers me too ! I'ts the very first time I've admitted it.......thought it might sound unpatriotic ! I LOVE this country........just NOT the noise Thanks for leading the way..........PEACE and love.........Norma
