This is my blog where I rave about IKEA. You've been forewarned :)
My Dad gave me a $300 gift card this Christmas to the most blessed store ever - Sweden's own, IKEA. They opened a store in my hometown a few years and ever since, I've been like a junkie with an insatiable addiction. It doesn't help that I absolutely adore modern design and have a limited budget either. To me, IKEA is like the mothership calling me home. When I'm there I am so absorbed, so inspired, so sublimely content, that WWIII could be going on right outside and I wouldn't even flinch.
So today was the day that I spent that cool $300. I brought my boy with to be my lifting/carrying guy, much to his complaint. But hey, I'm a girl and I usually get what I want ;) As a quad, I very well couldn't carry the cardboard-filled box weighing 50lbs that contained my new TV stand, out of the store on my own. No siree. And he knew it :) So this afternoon we made the very happy trek to the behemoth blue building outside the Mall of America, in search of all my items on my incredibly detailed list (thanks to IKEA's website). We found them all! And bonus-bonus, we even found a BETTER TV stand for $20.00 less! Sweet, heh?
So now my lovely condo in the sky contains a new glass TV stand, 5 new mirrors, a new Audrey Hepburn print, 3 new lamps, a matching coat/hat and shoe rack, and a picture frame for my desk. The prices were so crazy cheap (their Winter Sale is going on until Jan. 21st), that I still have $60+ left on my gift card, hence the tantalizingly and pleasing....IKEA orgasm.

I love IKEA too!
w00t! :)
Yep, my condo also looks like an IKEA show room. My mom gave me an IKEA china hutch for Christmas. I was planning to see what else I could find before the sale ends. I'm also jonesin' for some Swedish meatballs!
Store-Gasm.
I'm embarassed to say I have NEVER been in an Ikea store. I used to work at Crate & Barrel. I am going through Pittsburgh this weekend. Perhaps I can get my traveling companion to stop. I love modern, too, and am always counting pennies! I love their website.
Thanks for the enthusiastic rave.
