I’ve been getting really stir-crazy as of late and I can’t put my finger on the cause. When I think about it, it could be a variety of reasons: 14 years of the sitting-down life is starting to catch up to my sanity, 10 years of taking synthetic hormones via the BC pill is starting to wear on my body and mind, it’s January here in Minnesota and the freezing cold temps and the having to stay inside thing is really starting to drive me batty, or it could just be the usual, a money and stress thing. Afterall, aren’t we all on the hunt to get more money from work so we can pay everyone who needs owing? It’s a never-ending chore; kind of like laundry.
I’ve been trying to think of some ways however to drive the monotony blues away, even if the definitive cause is never figured out. My first idea was adapted bi-snow skiing through the Courage Center (nothing like flying down a steep hill on your ass to get the happy-juice flowing). I first tried it back in 1998 while in rehab and absolutely loved it. I’ve also considered going on a cheap vacay to either Vegas (great 3 night deals through Sun Country) or Mexico. I’ve already been to both places and list them as the top places to party and go craaaazy. Sometimes….I’m a firm believer that getting a bit crazy, and going on an “overnight drunk” (a la Steve Zissou), is a cure for many a heartache.
And the last, most genius idea, I came up with to fix this awful feeling, is to sleep, take my vitamins, and exercise. “Maybe if I sleep all weekend, workout on Saturday, and cook healthy for myself too, I’ll finally feel better?”

I say it's the weather, it's been unbearably miserable these past few days. Go somewhere warm and forget all about it!

I'm feeling stir crazy too. For me, it's the weather. I don't enjoy winter very much, especially the endlessly gray days we've been having lately.
I would love to be someplace warm right now!
I know how you feel. This is why I love Hawai'i so much. 80 degrees all the time! Woo-hoo! I may not be in MN, but where I am, it is too stinking cold!!!
i think im going to take youre suggestion into consideration, veri! vegas here i come!
hawaii, muscician? i'd love that!!
Call it S.A.D. or cabin fever, wheelchairs in winter tend to bring on the blues. The exercise thing is a great boost. Music and movies can help. Any chance you get, sit in the sun.
Stay sane Tiff, though it's hard to imagine in January, spring will come.
good idea, rehab...about the sun. i do notice that helps.
hi tiff, seems like this winter is colder and longer than the last few we've had. i am also anxious for spring, :) xoxo
