Here in Minneapolis we're getting to the almost-end-of-winter phase. After Feb. 15th, we have another solid month of certified winter, then (by the grace of God) Spring will start to emerge. And I must say, this winter has been a long, dreary one. With really, really frigid temps that killed my van on multiple occasions, so much snow that the curb-cuts were impassable for an entire month, and other horrendous I-wanna-move instances, this Minnesota Winter has really been the pits. And so, needless to say, the dreaded cabin fever has finally set-in, and yes, it's driving me mad.
As a C6 quad, there's not always a lot to do when you got the cabin fever. Get in my van, drive somewhere - say the mall, a museum, a restaurant, a movie theater, to my mom's - do your thing, then what? Go back to my dead van?? Nu-uh...I don't think so. There's nothing worse than having a dead van in freezing cold weather (have I mentioned yet on my blog how long it takes for me to warm up, aka, retain body heat? *checks*...Yes I have). The risk never seems worth it I guess. So here I sit, pining away for Springtime weather. I'll be so giddy with joy when all the snow starts melting and we hit walk-outside-pleasant 50+ degree weather. I miss seeing all the pedestrians on the walk path by the river outside by my house.
Simply put: Life needs to get on again. Enough of this staid, literally frozen lifestyle.

I'm a former patient of Gillette. Always wondered how it happend to be in St Paul of all places (then I read the book Dr Koop wrote that was quite interesting btw). Still though, people fly in from all over and all this snow. EEEEEWWWWWW. I had 2 December surgeries, and I got lucky. It was bitter cold, but the snow was ok. On the plus side, to go off on a tangent, I was in the hospital on plenty of drugs, so what did I care?
I'm with you Tiff. I want nothing more than to crawl out of the cave but it's too dark and too damn cold! It's nothing but work and home for me. Even my gym time is way down. I need some sunshine, some activity and for heavens sake some women without heavy coats. I need spring!
This winter has been trecherous out here in the sticks too (actually it's usually a few degrees warmer in the city!). I am seriously considering California or Florida because this freaking state is just rediculous! I can't wait for the summer when my only complaint is getting my chair stuck in the sand!
cheryl, i sometimes wonder how minnesota ever became to be inhabited somedays :/ and yay for painkillers!!
:) @ rehabguy. i miss wearing my skanky tank tops! my wintercoat makes me feel sooo dumpy.
verigoth, i'm with you on the cali idea. san diego is heaven on earth. i've been there and was shocked how easy these people have it.
Thanks for the grin Tiff. I miss those tops too. In Michigan they say the first sign of spring the Robin. I think it's the belly-shirt. Bring on the sun!
