As many of you requested, here now is just a taste of the photoshoot from yesterday. I have only received a couple pics from him as of today (the photographer is busy "working" on the rest). I also have a couple of pics from my "Bollywood Extravaganza" from last weekend. So for starters, here are a couple of pics of me in my "Indian themed" attire for my Bollywood party:
As you can see, the facial jewelry is pretty dramatic. The faux, nose-to-earring/hair chain - with the giant gold, with pearl-studs - hoop in the nose, is very exotic (I personally love it). It cost me only $8.99 on Ebay. woot-w00t! I want, rather NEED, an excuse to wear it again, but the only feasible way I see that happening is at by going to a gothy club. We'll see if it gets anymore use ;)
The hair jewelry you see there laid in the middle part of my hair is a very popular piece of traditional Indian jewelry and is called a "Tikka" and is unbelievably easy to put it (here's a great website that shows a beautiful variety of Tikkas: http://www.bombayfashions.com/index.php?cPath=318). It just hooks in your hair, and voila! It seriously will stay in all night, no matter how much, crazy "head thrashing" dancing you do (and believe me, that's the kind of dancing I do).
The other piece of facial jewelry I'm wearing is the "Bindi," which is a pretty, usually faux-jeweled sticky applique that goes between your eyes. It's supposed to represent the "mythical third eye" and apparently, Indian men find it a huge turn-on. I got a pack of 12 from a local hippie store for $2.99. Score! THESE, without question, I will definitely wear when I go out next.
Here's another pic showing my sari:
As you can see, I'm wearing a bunch of matching bangles and big dangly gold earrings with a matching gold necklace (also traditional) too. The women also wear TONS of eyeliner, fyi. I just wore a white tube top and some white shorts underneath the sari, and my gf helped me wrap it around my waist (in bed), pinned it with safety pins, then we threw the extra fabric over my shoulder.
The whole outfit turned out pretty much kick-ass. I NEED to wear the whole get-up again. Maybe Halloween? I was going to go as a dead Marie Antoinette this year though, or go as Cleopatra and make my chair a gold-gilded Egyptian throne. Meh...we'll see. That holiday is still several months awy (although it IS my favorite holiday of the year).
And here are two pics from my photoshoot from yesterday. Enjoy!
