I never went to prom, kiddos. No....woe is me. No guy asked me out, no gfs to go to stag with....I had broken my neck my freshmen year, so when I was a senior, I was feeling a bit better; could've felt good enough to go to Prom if someone asked. But no one did. It's always bothered me that I never went. That's why when I get married I plan on having a huge blowout to make up for all the HS formals I missed out on.

Ha! Take that God!

But in the meeeeeantime, there's the annual Goth Prom to attend. Every year in Minneapolis a big party, aka "Goth Prom," is thrown at the local gay bar, The Saloon. Everyone goes dressed up to the 9's in their sexiest, most formal "goth gear." This year's theme was Steampunk.

Steampunk, in case you're out of the loop, is basically Victorian punk/goth. Think Kate Beckinsale in "Van Helsing." Lots of corsets, top hats for the men, telescopes, eyeglasses, cool neck scarves with brooches/cameos, and lots and lots of black. So my BFF and I headed to Goth Prom this past Monday dressed-up in our finest Steampunk creations (see pic above). For all of our tasty pics (including a pic of local famous guy Ron...he was born w/o legs and has a fetish for women in heels to walk on him), go here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theophania79/sets/72157605040860395/

And guess what (other than winning a free piercing, making out with a hot blonde, and dancing my ass off to reaaaaally good Industrial)? I ran into a bunch of old/awesome friends, which totally made my night.

Goths are so friendly. Really, truly. I love them all.
