Concert Blog Part II: Bowie Tribute

I am probably one of the biggest David Bowie fans in Minnesota. I wouldn't go so far to say I'm the biggest fan in the USA, or in the world for that matter (because I know several folks from the boards at davidbowie.com that are waaay more obsessive than I am), but in Minnesota? Yeah, I think it's possible.

My passion/love for Mr. Bowie developed at around age 8 when I watched Labyrinth for the first time. As the dark and sexy "Jareth," Bowie peaked my sexual interest even at this early age, and since...well, it's been nothing but fun, crazed fandom. And every year here in Minneapolis First Ave (a famous local music club), holds a joint Bowie tribute/fundraiser for no-kill cat shelters in May.

Last night was the said event, and as you can see from the pic to the left, I went as "Aladdin Sane" (the era right after Bowie was "Ziggy." Bowie invented this character basically off a play on words: "A lad insane." Bowie was literally high on coke 24/7 during this period, and thought he was an alien). Yes, really.

Sooooo....I went with my friend Melissa last night, took tons of pics, saw our friend J. Evan play lead guitar to  an amazing cover of "Fame," met a bunch of other awesome Bowie fans, met a bunch of local music celebs, and pretty bunch headbanged all night long. In fact, my neck is still store :/
