Sick on Memorial Day Weekend! Bleh!

So…am I the last one to know that cold/sore throat bugs still exist in May? WTF? Thanks to my friend Bill, who givingly gave me his cold bug last Sunday, after bringing over his Wii for me to play/experiment with, I'm now in full-blown "suffering from a hellish cold" mode. It's awful. And being a C6 quad, coughing is next to impossible. In fact, pneumonia is one of the top causes of death for folks like me.

Needless to say, knowing these stats scared me enough to go to Urgent Care today, where a very cool doctor, who "also was in a wheelchair for 6 months" (hmmm "ok" I thought. Weird, but still cool oddly enough), checked my temp (99! yay!). And gave me the coveted Z-Pac (sp?). For those of you not in the know, Z-Pac is a really awesome antibiotic that kills cold bugs FAST. And the coolest part about my Drs visit? The Insty Meds machine. It's a prescription drug vending machine that's right in your clinic's lobby, so you don't have to go to the pharmacy. How cool is that?!

I’m so frelling sick right now though, you guys ….it’s no fair! It literally feels like moss is growing in the back of my throat. Awful, nasty itchy moss…if that even exists. And it’s finally warm and gorgeous here in MN, but I don’t even feel like going outside.

Good thing I had no “National Lampoon” esque road trip planned, or a camping extravaganza all set.

It’s just me, Buffy on DVD, and take-out (and my two ever-present cats, Pixie and Daphners).
