Ever early summer here in frigid Minnesota, when the warm weather finally hits us in June (yes, woefully June. Can you believe it?!), I always get a hankering to start applying self-tanner. As much as I hate to admit, it I love the tan and glowy look, even IF it is pushed on us by the evil mass-media machine and sun in itself is bad for you. Self-tanner is 100% UV free, but it definitely ain't easy to put on whilst sitting, hence this post....

My PCA is honestly the one who takes the brunt of the work, although I do apply it to my chest and face by myself. We apply it after I get out of the shower, while I'm still in my shower chair, in the bathroom. First step after drying me off? Apply regular moisturizer first, so your dry areas don't soak up the self-tanner and end up looking orange and patchy. I prefer Lubriderm. Step numero dos) Apply the tanner evenly and spread in a circular motion, if at all possible. Step three) Let the tanner dry before getting dressed. If in a hurry, use a blow-dryer. And which brand do I prefer? Jergen's Express. You'll look gorgeously tan after three applications.

I've been buying it for "Medium" skin tones too to make me look even more tan, and it's working. The problem of course in re: to getting an even-looking tan while sitting is getting the tanner in the nooks and crannies, behind your legs, and in the creases of skin that fold while you're sitting. It ain't easy and the "perfect and natural" looking tan I don't think is even possible if you use a chair, but it can may you look good enough...

Here's a pic of me from last night at a concert sporting my new skin shade. You like?

Lookin' good! (and I don't mean that in a creepy way!) The stuff really works? I've been toying with the idea, but not sure I can evenly reach all of the necessary places. Although, with this lousy weather, face and hands would do it!
