This 4th of July weekend I'll be spending my days at a huge geek fest known as CONvergence. It's Minnesota's own version of San Diego's Comic Con, or Atlanta's Dragon Con. It's a big deal simply put, and I'm jazzed as hell to be going this year for my 2nd time. I'm for all purposes the only chic or person for that matter, that goes who uses a wheelchair. Even in a huge group of 3,000+ geeks, I stand out like a sore thumb. I wish this wasn't the case, but I digress...
The thing I love about comic book conventions is the comrardarie (sp?) one finds. Geeks are a pretty accepting group of people (just like the gays are, people of color, and the way people with disabilities can be). I love it. Everyone is generally uber nice, despite a few folks you'd rather not see. I have an ex-gf, and ex-friend, and an ex-sex friend I'm avoiding. Minneapolis may be big, but it's definitely not big enough. The hotel where our beloved CON is held may be big, but you still will pass by your archenemies at least a few times in one day. It's unavoidable. My plan to tone down this unwanted stress is to have a water bottle full of booze on me 24/7.
I love me my CON so much, and I look forward to it so much, that no one on this Earth will stop me from going. All my friends and I wait every year (diligently), for the season of CON to come forth. Tomorrow is the first day and OH YES, parties and fun will be had. I will be taking dozens of pics, so be sure to check back on my blog on Monday for a full update, which will be full of so much win you won't know what to do with yourself.
Happy 4th!

Have a great time! Happy Fourth to you as well. :)
I'm jealous, you get to see Trace Beaulieu.
It's good to see that he and the rest of the crew from MST3K are getting some work with Cinematic Titanic.
