Watch out world; ok drivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Tiff's driving long distance. It may be only a four hour drive, but I've been a driver for only three years, and am a C6 quad. You do that math. Oh, and my stamina is awful too. I'm worried it'll take much longer to get there, i.e., I'll be pulling over at rest stops every 45 mins. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any sage driving wisdom to pass along to this crippled bleached blonde?
I'll be going east into cheese country, i.e., Wiscsonsin. Going to a very cool pertinent conference, actually; if you care to know. May meet some really cool people there, may not. It may be awash, or it may be a boon and an awesome decision. God I hope it's the latter. Traveling with a disability is overly-complicated and can sometimes make the trip not fun at all. And no matter how much planning you do, you're still not guaranteed any "hiccups." Sh$#t happens. Once on a trip my shower chair wheel broke and I was stuck in a hotel room in downtown San Diego, frantically searching in the yellow pages for a medical repair company (I found one eventually).
So on the road, roadtrip essentials are good tunes and junk food. Am I right or am I right? I prefer Cheez Whiz, Ritz crackers, string cheese, Pepsi, Cool Ranch Doritos, and maybe, a pit-stop at a lame national fast food chain. I always love it when a "new to me" chain presents itself like Chik-Filet or Whattaburger. Oh, and can't forget about Sonic!
And the tunes? Old school R&B, SWV, En Vouge....you get the idea.
So how about you. What are your roadtrip secrets and/or your must-haves?
