Things in the freelance writing world, like many other industries, could be better right now. But that's ok. At the end of the day I know I'll survive. Everything will be ok. I may have to get a non-writing job at some point, like become a potato farmer or something, but I'm a survivor. Heck, I died for cryin' out loud. Ain't no financial crisis gonna scare me, or ruin my confidence in myself, life, what have you. Money? Ha! I've stared death in the face. Bring on an economic meltdown, America, go ahead. See me shivering in my boots? Yeah, I didn't think so.
So you see, I just have to "keep on, keepin' on," as the kids like to say (me included). I need to stay positive, peresevere, and trust that fate has me in safe keeping. And if fate doesn't exist, well, I guess we're all just screwed then aren't we? And in that case, pass me the flask, Bozo.
This morning I went to the grocery store. If you've read some of my past blogs you know I'm not a very big fan of buying food. Going into grocery stores just gives me the heebie jeebies. I can't explain it. Yes, yes, I know I'm weird; but....at least I'm not as weird as this girl I know who is literally scared of ketchup. I also know another girl who's scared of men with red hair (yes really). See, I *could* be weirder.
But I digress. Buying food on a non-existent food budget is a bit "freak-out" ey. So, what did I end up buying? A bunch of Ramen at .23 cent/package, .69 cent/frozen burritos, and A LOT of spaghetti. Pasta goes a long, long way; an excellent way to get a lot of food (and get full) on a tiny budget. I also bought a bunch of flour tortillas and Kraft cheese slices; another cheap meal and bonus? Both of these food stuffs take forever to go bad.
So there you have it. This spoiled brat fashionista is even affected by the recent turn of economic events. Dude, I can barely believe it either.
