Some chaps in the UK have invented a “smart” cap that allows those with disabilities (well, actually it allows anyone who wants to) to control radio-controlled cars and boats. They call it the "Dream Racer." The special cap is outfitted with four motion sensors that detect small movements of the head, which are then passed wirelessly to control the toy’s direction. No word on how speed is controlled--maybe you just have to snap your neck back and forth to get it to slow down or speed up. Apparently the chiropractors are quite happy with this arrangement.
If RC toys aren't your thing you'll be happy to hear that the invention has also been adapted so it can play games on Sony’s PlayStation consoles. If they'd only add XBox360 support I'd be happy...
The technology was originally designed for a five-year-old boy who was paralysed in a car crash.

I'm in for one, just as long as you can get hats with different logos on them. I'll take a Red Sox hat anyday over a stupid "dream racer" one.
What a great invention. I love to play racing car games.I am ready to challenge my husband..hear that Burnthiscube? Christmas is coming hint hint.
If speed was controlled by looking forward or back, how would I keep my eyes on the road?
I have gadgets I knew I needed and me and my husband built it while things found around the house.
Tim keep the gadgets coming in.
Huh, how strange...could be fun though. I wonder how they'd do it for video games though, those things are soooo complex these days compared to "old school" nintendo...
