My brother asked for battery powered socks this year. I did due diligence and tracked them down, but when I found them I also found some really negative reviews. Apparently they don't actually keep your toes any warmer and the battery weight drags the socks down in an annoying fashion. Rather a predictable result in my opinion. I called him up and gave him the low down on the socks and he still wanted them! "Yeah," he said, "it just kind of the fact of having these weird battery powered socks that appeals to me, I mean who has battery powered socks?"
Are you like my brother? Does gimmickry attract you? Are you willing to pay hard cash for a dubious item that only provides a certain level of exotic exclusivity? If so I may have the perfect gift for you. Behold...
Designer Toilet Paper by Renova.
Renova is selling what they claim is the first "fashionable" toilet paper, available in four designer colors: Black, Red, Orange, and Green. They've clearly hired a copy writer of great genius, for their description of the product is incredible: "A voluptuous texture. Colors for an outstanding style. A warm mystery in every single olfactive moment. Soft and glamorous...A paper full of pleasure."
Other highlights of their decadent butt-wiping product?
Sounds like a must have! Unless you're using Cleanbutt, that is...

I came across this letter of the battery operated socks from browsing through Disaboom as a newcomer and trying to learn how to naviate through this site. Not disabaled myself but I am working with the seniour population and have worked with the disabled in the past. As an avid sewer all my life I have designed a lap-cozy with seniors in mind as they seem to get the chills more often, especially those confined to wheelchairs. It has been designed so that it wraps your legs/feet up ( over/under/behind) anchors to your chair etc. Do you think it would be possible to get feedback from you as to how you cope with the cold when outdoors especially and if you do what you want your lap/overcoat to provide you with, in looks as well as functionality. I would be most grateful for this feedback as it would teach me about needs of the disabled population and in the hopes that I may design something that would be helpful to you.
Thanks so much for listening
