I'm a t7 para. 7 years. I just recently graduated from the University of Tennessee in landscape design. I have become a specialist in adaptive gardening. If you ever have the need to make it easier as times go on there are measurements that will allow you to have bedds you can reach from both sides. Unfortunateley there are times that you do need help. Like digging up old plants, but that's about All I have people help. Am Auger on a drill goes along way. Best of luck with your garden.

I love to garden and I have a big one, For the first time in years I needed help with gardening, so my husband and step -son, help me. I needed to explain it all to them but it worked. We got in it, and now we wait. I was able to enjoy lettuce so far. I have my Irises and poppies are blossoming, they are so big this year. I was able to but around and work up all my flower beds. Now I can enjoy, work in them when I am frustrated or just want to stop and smell the roses. I enjoy your story, and would lov e to chat.

This is great. It is very dishearting not to be able to visit friends and family in their homes because they are not accessible. It would take so little to make them so, but the contractors just don't take this into consideration at all in Arkansas. I hope the word gets around to more home builders. It is extremely hard to find a pre-existing home to buy if you are in a wheelchair.

My husband & I are getting ready to build a handicap home for our family. We have a child with CP and is visually impaired. We are trying to find a list of ideas to add to the house to plan for our sons needs in the future. We know 3 foot doors and halls we are looking for innovated ideas.

I would really appreciate an example floorplan with a list of the adjustments. Are there architects and space planners who can interview and design to specific needs.

Also, another problem, I am finding two areas of frustration:

I don't know all the "ins and outs" of my disability.

Even if I know certain allowances need to be made in order to function independently, I can't find the contractor or agency that knows how to implement the acessibility.

Can you give me some direction?
