&lt;p&gt;I'd like to recommend another useful resource -- &amp;quot;Avoiding and Managing Medical Debt,&amp;quot; a free booklet that was co-written by NEFE and Georgetown University. It can be downloaded from the web at &lt;a rel="nofollow" target="_new" href="http://www.healthinsuranceinfo.net/nefe"&gt;www.healthinsuranceinfo.net/nefe&lt;/a&gt; , along with two other booklets about personal finance and healthcare.&lt;/p&gt;
