While the character was played by a non-disabled person, it was a convincing and emotional performance. Abby Lockhart (played by Maura Tierney) tries to convince the professor that he shouldn't give up his fight with ALS. This portrayal of those not suffering trying to figure out why someone would give up so seemingly easily, is very realistic in my opinion. While I certainly don't think I would want to give in to my fight with Duchenne muscular dystrophy somewhere down the line, I also respect the decisions people make for themselves. I think that ER should get more recognition for shedding light on the differences between what the disabled want and what the non disabled feel.

Disability News and Commentary | PatriciaEBauer.com » News Archive » Blue magic: Getting to know Josh Blue

Pingback from Disability News and Commentary | PatriciaEBauer.com » News Archive » Blue magic: Getting to know Josh Blue
