I suggest you go to www.icdri.org and check out how inaccessible the presidential candidate web sites are to people with disabilities. It is on the home page, under Latest News. The campaigns have been notified as far back as July and nothing has been done about it as far as can be determined.

And this is why we love the Disaboom community - great job of pointing this out, we'd hate to add even more misinformation (disinformation?) to the campaign. Next time we'll make sure we get the cities straight, and in the meantime, thanks for the eagle-eye!

Okay, now Disaboom joins the ranks of the unenlightened media who have been mis-speaking and reporting the RNC is in Minneapolis. No, it's in St. Paul. Some of the nightlife and hotels are located in Minneapolis, but the site of the convention is St. Paul.

I'm thrilled to see Obama taking an active approach and supporting issues important to people with disabilities. I would like to see the same commitment from McCain. Realistically I am doubtful due to his voting record, but I am optimistic he will realize the importance of 37 million registered voters with disabilities. It's time for our voice to be heard and our issues addressed!

We forgot to mention our own US Senator feels its important that h1b; h2b visa holders be reautorized for prior workers so that they can continue to do jobs that US citizens and legal residents wont do. (We told him what we thought of that one)

Our own US Rep has lots of time to help illegals in her district but no time to help the disabled. Disabled who we might add can vote for her but we never will.

What do you suggest we do about this? None of the 3 Senators who want to be President ever talk about disability issues. ADA issues arent important in Congress. Work that we could be doing instead goes to illegals and others not authorized to work here so its like we should just live on SSDI and not bother anyone as they dont care!!! Living on SSDI is not really living either; just existing; sort of.

Our own legislature in CO does piecemeal bills to help one specific group instead of doing broad bills to help the most disabled. We feel we are competing with other disabled for help to do anything here when we shouldnt be.
