National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA)

NMEDA is a non-profit trade association that works to provide persons of a disability in finding transportation, whether it me modification of their vehicles or transportation provided by others.  Under the member directory, visitors to the site can find a dealer near them to assist them in modifying their vehicle.

The website for Project Action is a U.S. DOT & FTA funded program to address accessible transportation in the community.  Easter Seals Project ACTION works to bring together transportation and the disability community.  Offers information on taxis, fact sheets, accessible rural transportation and accessible travel info.

Ride Safe

This site gives information for wheelchair users on using public transportation.  Gives simple step-by-step directions for strapping down a wheelchair, so the passenger may ride safely.  The Glossary terms provides all the vocabulary one would need in discussing this procedure.
