Located on 40 acres of pristine Sonorian desert, the Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North (www.fourseasons.com/scottsdale) is the perfect place to treat yourself to a spa week. Truth be told, you can easily spend your entire week without ever venturing out the front gate of this relaxing desert oasis. On the other hand, if you’d like to alternate your spa treatments with a little shopping spree or maybe some gallery hopping, then rest assured, Downtown Scottsdale is just a short drive away.

An Accessible Oasis
Built in 1999, the Four Seasons Scottsdale features 188 oversized guest rooms and 22 suites; including seven accessible casita guest rooms, two accessible one-bedroom suites, and one accessible two-bedroom suite. The accessible guest rooms all boast wide doorways, excellent pathway access and a bathroom with a roll-in shower and a hand-held showerhead. Other access amenities include grab bars in the shower and around the toilet, a plastic shower chair and a full five-foot turning radius in the bathroom. Additionally, all guest rooms have a balcony or a patio, which offers stunning views of the expansive desert as well as nearby Troon Mountain and Pinnacle Peak.

Access throughout the complex is excellent too, with paved pathways that are ideal for wheeling. Alternatively, golf cart transportation to and from the lobby is also available. And in true Four Seasons style, you’ll never want for anything.

Pamper Yourself
When it’s time to pamper yourself, head over to the spa which features barrier-free access, 14 treatment rooms and a roll-in shower in the locker room. A long menu of pampering treatments are offered, including a wide range of skin and body wraps, scrubs, facials and massages. The focus is on treatments inspired by the ingredients and spirit of the desert.

Signature treatments include the Desert Nectar Facial which features a penetrating facial mask and a warm honey dip for the hands, the Sedona Earth Clay Body Mask and the invigorating champagne and caviar Pinnacle Facial. Round it all out with a hot stone massage, a seaweed facial or a collagen mask for that total spa experience.

The spa also has a full service salon, if you’d like to treat yourself to a new hairstyle or a manicure. Of course you can always just kick back and relax in your own private cabana by the swimming pool.

Art and Shopping
If you’re in the mood for a little shopping and gallery hopping, then wander over to Downtown Scottsdale. This pedestrian friendly area features wide sidewalks, ubiquitous curb-cuts, accessible shops and a free lift-equipped trolley (www.scottsdaleaz.gov/trolley/downtown.asp).

Downtown Scottsdale is also is home to 65 permanent and 26 temporary works of art, thanks to the Scottsdale Public Art Program. Download an art map at www.scottsdalepublicart.org and create your own art tour. And don't miss the Thursday evening Art Walks (www.ScottsdaleGalleries.com), when participating galleries showcase their creations and provide light snacks and entertainment. Top it off with a feast in Old Town Scottsdale, for a great end to your spa getaway.
