I made a cushy giant dog crate (kennel) bed with a new $18 Walmart Baby Mattress, and its perfect!

I sewed a removable fleece slip cover, which is very fluffy, warm and comfortable, The waterproof impermeable mattress is easy to wipe clean and sterilize - so it may be a more sanitary option than some of the kennel dog-beds on the market!

It has a nice cushy depth. Excellent support for a large dog 'cuz this mattress won't bottom out, or flatten with use - unlike fiberfill batting. What could be more welcoming to a big 'ol tired pup??
