Accessible homes, also known as barrier free homes, are ones that provide easy, safe access throughout the home for anyone who may have a mobility, strength, or other impairment. For example, being barrier free means having wheelchair lifts for two-story or door handles that are easily and painlessly used by someone with arthritis. Ideally, accessible design takes into consideration the needs of all people with disabilities. Find out more about accessible homes in this section.
