With the rise and need for medical marijuana in the United States, a group of medical clinics have come together to provide services to patients. The collaboration, known as MediCann, is located in California and has a network of clinics with offices from Eureka to San Diego. The venture was started by Dr. Jean Talleyrand and includes 20 clinics.
The clinic network consults with patients looking for medical marijuana by using a holistic view to medicine. If a patient qualifies for the drug, one of the licensed professionals will provide a recommendation, allowing the patient to use the drug under California’s Proposition 215. Proposition 215, also known as California Compassionate Use Act, was passed in 1996.
Besides providing medical marijuana to patients, the group also strives to provide education on alternative health practices and information on available medications that would work best for the patient. Patients do not require a referral to visit the clinic. The MediCann clinic, however, does not accept insurance so patients must pay out of pocket.
If patients are approved to use medical marijuana, a card will be issued providing them with permission to use the drug. Patients must also visit their MediCann medical provider once a year in order to continue to use medical marijuana.
The clinic has a variety of locations across the state of California. To find a location, a patient can visit the company’s website, and click on the Locations section under Contact Us.
To obtain a consultation, potential patients can contact the clinic via mail, email address or phone number:
