Bladder cancer is one of the few cancers that show a definite correlation in occurrence with disability. In fact, studies have shown that individuals with spinal cord injuries may be 100 times more likely to experience bladder cancer than will the general population, although this is still a relatively small number, ranging from less than 1% to 3% of the population.
