One of the biggest events every year for the Deaf community is the DeafNation World Expo, or Deaf Expo, which will be held in Las Vegas for 2010. The Deaf Expo is taking place at the Sand Expo’s 200,000 square foot exhibit hall right next to the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino (near the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino).

Deaf Expo Free to Everyone, Hearing or Not
The best thing about this whole event is that the Deaf Expo itself is free, but obviously you’ll have to pay for your transportation and hotel room.

According to the DeafNation website, there’s no charge to get in to the Deaf Expo in order to encourage a diversity of attendees who can enrich the whole experience. It’s a great place for your hearing friends to start learning all about things that surround the Deaf community.

Deaf Expo Events
A broad range of events and activities will be available at the Expo, including exhibitions, workshops, entertainment, sporting activities, activities for children, and keynote speakers.
Some of the keynote speakers are well known leaders in the Deaf community, such as:
•    Donalda Ammons, a leading figure in Deaf Sports
•    Mark Wheatley, EU of the Deaf Executive Director
•    Bernard Bragg, internationally known Deaf Entertainer

If you don’t know who these people are, this place is a great place to go and find out who they are! Las Vegas is a great place to explore anyway, because the Strip offers a massive amount of visually stunning experiences, and the DeafNation Expo is giving you a reason to be in Vegas.

Help Out at Deaf Expo
Going to Deaf Expo is fun, but giving back to the community is even better! If you are interested in volunteering for DeafNation Expo, go to their website and contact them today about the many opportunities at the event. Some things that they will need are voice interpreters, international sign language interpreters, registrars, and so forth.

Grab the opportunity to be part of one of the world’s biggest deaf events in Las Vegas! The Deaf Expo runs from July 19-22, 2010, and is open from 9 to 5 each day.
