Since 1988, the Fibromyalgia Network has been dedicated to providing quality information to fibromyalgia patients, with the ultimate goal of minimizing the number of people suffering in silence from fibromyalgia because they don’t understand their symptoms.
What is the Fibromyalgia Network?
The Fibromyalgia Network is an online resource that offers articles, newsletters, advice and support about fibromyalgia, as well as an opportunity to buy supplements and awareness items (wristbands, pins, car magnets, etc.) through their online store.
The Fibromyalgia Network can be considered your personal online fibromyalgia team - of group experts who gather all the latest information, research, tools and advice and present it to you on one site. The goal is to prevent patients from searching multiple avenues for up-to-date Fibro information.
Fibromyalgia Network’s History and Support System
In 1993, the Fibromyalgia Network started a national campaign to lobby the Senate and U.S. House of Representatives to endorse language that would persuade the National Institute of Health (NIH) to fund research on fibromyalgia. Five years of lobbying efforts finally paid off and the NIH started offering millions of dollars each year for research grants for the disease.
The Fibromyalgia Network has since partnered with American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association to fund research projects for chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, which currently has awarded more than a $1 million to research. They also launched a national campaign to make May 12 Awareness Day to improve public recognition and understanding of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
How to Become a Fibromyalgia Network Member

Membership benefits include a subscription to Fibromyalgia Network (a quarterly journal about fibromyalgia news, research, treatments, etc.), eNews Alerts, physician referrals, a chance to participate in online surveys, a medical hotline, free medical articles, discounts on back issues of Fibromyalgia Network and more.
