I am a L AK and I'm hoping to find out if anyone else is experiencing the following symptoms, although I do not believe them to be related to my amputation. So the condition starts out with body aches like I'm coming down with the flu or a virus. I become nauseated and even spike a low grade fever ,occasionally there has been vomiting. Sometime during the second day the previous symptoms begin to fade and an inflammation starts to appear on my lower right leg. The leg eventually becomes totally inflamed, swollen and hot to the touch (I do not have a fever at this point). If I try to stand the leg throbs and I have to elevate it again. After about a week the swelling goes down and the inflammation gradually recedes. I have been through all sorts of tests, Vascular, blood, MRI, CT, x-rays, skin biopsy and full body scan (not as fun as it sounds). This condition occurs once or twice a year and the inflammation seems to be getting worse with each bout. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms and actually figured out what's going on? Thanks for listening.
Eric

Hey Eric! I'm sorry you are going through this! I have no suggestions for you, other than to suggest that it may be an allergy? I don't know. I hope you figure this out soon! Hang in there.

Eric, ever asked Your doctor about phlegmones?
I don't have the nausea-bit, but the rest fits in.
