    • Hello,

As an self-employed person with a disability I know, first hand, just how important a "rainy day" fund (a savings account used for emergencies) can be. They can literally be a life saver if a financial catastrope happens in your life. I was curious as to how many of you either have an existing  "rainy day" fund or are contemplating starting one?

    • I wish we could afford it! Instead, we have thousands of dollars in unpaid medical bills.

    • Before I got married, I did not worry about it.  Now I want her to  be protected.  My health is  fairly stable right now, but last year I almost bought the farm.   I am very expensive to keep alive... i need care 24/7.  I am lucky to have a good job, and I have tried to put what I can into investments.  The sad thing is, that I am worth more dead than alive.Smile

    • I kinda think I am worth more dead than alive too, sometimes. But to answer the original question, I do have a rainy day fund and it seems like I may need to tap into it soon. I hope not, though.
