    • I am writing for my Mom, an 80-something bilateral BKA. She is normally quite independent and fully ambulatory. Several months ago she developed two small blisters on one of her stumps. Thinking it was fit-related, she consulted her prosthetist who told her to take it easy, leave her prosthesis off for a few days and apply a topical antibiotic. The blisters did not seem to be healing so she saw her surgeon and prosthetist (again). Both did not feel there was a fit issue and attributed it to shearing of the skin against the bed linens perhaps when she was moving about in bed or getting out of bed. She has been wearing her shrinkers to bed to protect her skin and had not worn her prosthetic for quite some time. Finally the blisters healed and she got the go -ahead to resume wearing her legs, building up her wear time gradually. Now, after wearing her prosthetic for part of the day another blister has formed, near where the old one was. She has another appointment with her prosthetist in two days, but I am wondering if anyone out there has experienced something like this, ever heard of it or can offer any insight? She is frustrated and depressed over this and the impact it has on her independence. I appreciate any feedback.

    • Judy, I have had several people contact me about similar situations on their stumps and my products have been able to help them. I have a couple sample packs of my skin conditioning lotion left and I would be happy to send them to you for free. You can read about them on my web site if you would like. Read what folks have said on the testimonial page and see if you think this might help. I will send them free and I will take care of the shipping, I would like your mother to get better and I am confident I can help. You will find my web address on my profile page and you can email me at evangelistdaveharper@comcast.net with your shipping address and I will send the samples to you.
