i recently had a mild stroke, but was still hospitalized for a week. is it normal to have lost a lot of memory because of it?
I believe I read somewhere that it is possible. You might research it on the net.

Absolutely, but it depends on where the stroke occurred. It does get better.

Hi,
Yes it is normal to lose some memory, but most of it comes back in time. I had a mild stroke several years ago and it phased my speech and memory. It took me a while to regain most of my short term memory although i still have some problems with it now, Now my speech, Thats a different story,, I still have problems at times with slurring. which is very embarrassing. It seems like everytime I get overly stressed, my speech acts up. Sometimes I just have to shut up for a while, days at a time and wait for it to straighten out. But dont worry about your memory, It will work itself out.
God bless you,
because I know what you are goin through.
good luck
