Hello everyone out there. I'm 23 years old and in 2003 I had 2 storke. I had to have open-heart surgery. I was in a coma for 2 1/2 months, but it all started because I have kidney deasease. I had since I was born I'm trying to look for someone to give me one. If anybody does what to you can go on wnykidneyconnections.org thank you for reading.

Perhaps you would be a good person to work with the staff here in coming up with a link to the various donar organizations. I don't believe that exists and the site is always expanding. Seems a bit presumptuous to ask a organ from people you don't know. Call me a killjoy or whatever - I just think asking for something anything from someone you don't know kind of rude or maybe inappropriate. Akin to asking for spare change anywhere, sidewalk, bus stop, front of grocery store or bite of something tasty off your dinner plate, on a stick or in your hand. Maybe its etiquette but its just plain inappropriate at a stroke group section. Sorry about your situation though reallly ...

Can you enlighten me then on how a request for one of your kidneys has to do with the topic of strokes. I do feel bad about the guy. I say one of your kidneys because it is wrong to just bluntly, as well as kind of ballsy to just come right out and donate one of my kidneys. Thats what I find wrong here - requesting one of my body organ as a personal and most importantly private matter. I slept on this and still believe this bold request an intrusion in my privacy. I resent that part and nothing against being a stroke survivior I am one myself but the topic is stroke not requests for my personal and private body parts. Perhaps I might not been taken aback if they were to ask if I were possibly a match and take the tests for anti-rejection etc. or even dinner first but I wasn't. I still feel that it is Bold and Nervy for a stranger to ask.

I still hate being disabled, and wish fervently that I weren't. But at least now I take better care of my own health, and I'm less shy and more outspoken than I was pre-stroke. I'm not sure if that's due to the brain damage or a feeling that "I almost died; I'm not going to waste this second chance at life."
Also, I've gained some computer skills since I, not entirely by choice, spend more time at the keyboard than I used to.
I've distanced myself from some relationships that were unhealthy, too.
Most important, I'm closer to God than I was before.
How do all you other stroke survivors feel?Has any sort of good come out of your stroke experience, or was/is it undilutedly bad?

Like CNo64, my understanding is that it is possible to be willing to also donate organs in the event of a "fatal" incident, as many do on their drivers' licenses. I am not in contact with organ donation registry groups, but it may be possible to "earmark" such a donation. If this is the case, it is certainly not an inappropriate request, or any kind of invasion of privacy.
In any event, I wish you the very best in finding a donor, and also in maintaining your health and serenity until that time arrives.
The point being this is a stroke discussion site not a place to request for body parts. Thats all and I'm sorry that is the topic here (Stroke). It would be like asking for one of your ovaries. Yes that is rude and I'm a total stranger too. Didn't I just now intrude on your body - your personal space. Yes I did - the point to my rudeness is - what does a request for yours or my body organs have to do with the discussion about strokes.
To the originator of this post - an introduction about yourself, candy, flowers or maybe dinner first please before you have the nerve to ask for one of my testicles Huh ?
So please keep to the subject at hand or get to know me first before you bluntly come right out and ask for my private parts - stranger.
Yes - meanwhile back to the topic.
Overall my experiences have been life affirming. educating and healthful. Yes I may be slightly used goods now but intend to live my life to however long it was meant. I've also started a bucket list. You know "things to do before I die" - so far. No. 1 on the list the Grand Canyon No. 2 Hoover Dam No. 3 Henderson, Nevada (already been to Vegas) and Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I love the beautiful color of the waters and mountains. Sure you might say Tahoe's not much to ask for but Its my favorite place on the planet
Hey Waitn, Welcome to Disaboom. Sorry to hear about your troubles. While his request is a bit forward, it is not totally inappropriate. What would you do in his situation? Lighten up on him, he's new here. Waitn, I wish you well and godspeed on that kidney.
