I appreciate the fact that you want to discuss STROKES, and having had one, it appears to be your main issue at this point. However, do you realize that besides the "Post" being in the Forum or Group or whatever, it DOES appear in the general Discussion Section on the Main Discussion Page, where any topic is appropriate regarding disability issues?
If I were in a fatal car accident, and my ovaries could be removed and airlifted to a needy person (which they could not be as I have scleroderma, but that is beside the point), then I would have NO problem with it. I would love to help another person live a better life, or continue that life. Heart donors, liver donors, kidney donors, etc., are all tremendous people in my book, and are the better individuals for being willing to share part of their "life" with another human being.
I hope you have the discussion regarding strokes with those people who have that as their main issue in the place you want. Why don't you also blog on the subject, and those who respond will PM you and you can also establish your own personal network that way. Many of us have had to do that when the community at large is not interested in or hostile to our own personal points of view. Also, you might PM those who have had strokes and appear in the general Discussion section. I personally, have a large group of "friends" interested in Alternative, or Non-Traditional healing developed after some pretty heated controversy. We correspond regularly.
Just a thought. Good luck.

I am a member of the NJ Sharing Network,to donate organs and tissue when I die. I feel this is a worthwhile organization and signed up for it about a year ago.

OK then ... I feel like I've take to the task and bamboozled by thinking this item was about a stroke discussion of possible interest. I realize now it's the old bait and switcheroo. The real subject is for a kidney donation - the stroke subject was just to get my attention. It's a good thing that you brought to my attention that this is posted in the general discussion area. I would have mistakenly thought it was a subject of interest there too. Note - I did find this post in the stroke discustion posts area and wasn't aware it appeared elsewhere. I'd also like to thank you for suggesting the blog but the stroke left my typing skills one handed and I'd spend all day there just responding to false advertisements such as the original post. I'll keep my thoughts and comments to myself and will shut the hell up now. I now see that the real subject matter isn't what it always appears to be or says. I get unsolicted email like that too. It usually turns out to be a pitch for viagra, immense love guns or beautiful sexy vixens looking to meet up with me. I'm learning ...

This site had promise - I thought I'd meet insightful people with useful things to say or shared experiences. Instead I feel like I've been duped and decieved by someone who says one thing but really wants something else. I must have been mistaken - if it meant anything goes at any subject and discussion topic. I stand corrected and embarrassed that people who don't have mutual interests read my post. Really sorry I mentioned your ovaries and my testicles now. I felt sure this site was what I was looking for since my stroke experience. Thank you and your large group of friends for correcting the error of my ways. I feel like such an old fool and a gas bag. I'll edit my "Favorites" - thank you again. I'm sure you'll unstandstand then why I will no longer post any responses. I'll just carry on with my subject site search since this place is not it. TTFN

WELCOME TO A GREAT SITE !

First of all I wouldn't mislead unsuspecting readers about what I really wanted - in this case a kidney. Sure we have the stroke thing in common but the text of the matter and subject stop there. I will say it is improper to lead me on, a total stranger (me) and just not nice, down the garden path. I'll say it again - I didn't know, anything and everything goes here - apparently. Perhaps it best I continue searching for more understanding sites. Where people speak (type) what they really mean to say and want. It just may be me but I really hate being lied to when it comes to the (Re:) subject matter. Bit forward you say - down right ballsy if you were to ask me - but that's just me. And if I were in this situation (needing a kidney) I would surely be a bit more discrete. As a rule, I'm not a hostile nor a bitter person but can and will be to liars. I can however agree to disagree, if you will, on its appropriateness ???

Of course you can disagree--that is what "discussion" is about. I, personally, would encourage you, however, to stick with the stroke site since I am pretty sure that most comment/discussion there WILL be about strokes and various aspects of the conditions post event. I think this is probably an unusual situation, and I can understand that you did not understand that the site discussion was also picked up for Post on the general discussion page. To get to the page, you need to go through a site. Perhaps this one would have been better placed under "General Health," but the woman did have a stroke, so . . .
Anyway, why not let it go now, and monitor the stroke site for awhile and see how you feel. Sometimes things can get heated on one event, and this is only one person out of many here who have had strokes, and many would probably appreciate your input down the road. Good luck, whatever choices you make.
