Well I,m trying to bring the artist out of my self in paint, I started with some paint by numbers but its not for me so after watching some old reruns of Bob Ross I am havin a go and so far I am impressed, I am still a little frustrated with it but its turning out better then I expected.
Wow if I only new what I was doing I be good at this.lol
I know how your feeling I am just picking up after a very long bad patch, its not so easy to smile at the mo but you will again.

telula68: I'm stuck on the couch and I can't move. I am an artist that can't create right now and feeling very low. Please share some stories of accomplishements with me.
Just pick up the brush (or whatever form you work in) and just start. You can do it.
What's that old saying...? "A night of a thousand girls starts with the drink" ? nah, that can't be it.

I understand the "stuck on the couch and can't move" thing.....either from chronic pain or depression or both. It is a terrible, scary, dark place to be and I hate it too! Finally got out of my depression symptoms with a new med for seizures (go figure). It is working so well, I have never felt this emotionally balanced in my whole life. So I consider that a success!
Well, in 2005, I got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, had to quit work, ended up on welfare after a quick descent into poverty on unemployment medical coverage, had to ask my new husband to leave (psychiatric disorder run amok), ended up evicted from the rooming house I took great pains to find (not my fault for eviction), packed up as much as I could manage and moved halfway across Canada back home, applied for Disability Pension....got it six months later, applied for subsidized housing....finally got a place after 2 year wait, did all this through chronic pain of Fibromyalgia and nagging pain of arthritis and no pain meds! (not my choice, drs won't give them out here).
I consider that a success of survival! LOL No wonder I was depressed all winter, trying to recover from all that and deal with chronic pain too!
Hope that helped you smile at least.
Gentle Hugs,Maggie

...each day, one day at a time.
Perhaps not too helpful to others... but words I live by.

Hey Dog how fast are you on that trike? I saw a guy here in town riding one and he was flying. Just wondering.

I can't tell ya for sure. I got it for free and it's and older model. Doesn't have a speedometer. It's still a new sport for me and I'm not that fast yet. I'm still struggling to remember how to use the gears.
This is my trusty stead. Yes, that's a flat front tire.
I'm still faster in my racing chair.

Well, Mike, I think your painting is absolutely wonderful!
I am one who couldn't draw or paint my way out of a paper bag, but I'm in awe of those who can. I do have other talents, though, and consider myself blessed with what I can do instead of wishing I could do what I just can't.
My ex-husband dabbles in painting and my sister-in-law has sold a few of hers, and your painting definitely shows that you have talent and could definitely get much better with practice. I really do like it and I am so glad you posted it for us here. I hope it gives you as good as a feeling to do it as I get when I look at it. It's wonderful! Good for you!
I do hope you keep painting and let us have a peek every so often, I would love that!
Thanks again for sharing.
