    • Hi Everyone!

Well, after four long years of looking for a doctor who would even discuss something for relief for me, I have finally been to see a Fibromyalgia Specialist in Toronto who is a wonderful man and who has said that we will keep trying different therapies until we find the one that works for me!  Hallelujah!

I consider this a major success!  LOL

This dr is starting me on a drug for Parkinson's Disease, but is sometimes used with Fibromyalgia patients.  It is called Pramipexole and I am taking 0.25mg pills.  Actually, I start on half a pill for a week and then one pill for a week, and then two pills for a week, until I'm finally up to 3 pills/day and I will stay on that....if I can tolerate it and not have horrible side effects like extreme nausea from it.  So, wish me luck that it will agree with me, first of all, and that it will help somehow also.

I'm willing to try anything at this point, and this dr will consider pain medication if that's what we need to look at.  He just wants to try this first, so I'm willing.  At least now I feel like there is hope where I had lost that, and I am just ecstatic about it.  I go to see him in six months again, but he will fax prescriptions to my pharmacy if we need to change to something else in the meantime.  It was a long trip, as we left at 5am and returned at 5:30pm, but well worth it.  I was so tired from travelling that much in one day, I slept for 12 hours!  LOL

I just hope that this helps to give hope to others who are still trying to find that doctor that will help them.  They do exist, and although I am in Canada, I"m sure there are others in the U.S. by now.  Don't lose hope and don't give up, just keep trying to find that network of information that will lead you to the right one.  I do hope others are finding their way and finding relief as my heart goes out to all of us who are suffering.

Just wanted to share that and hope that my success can give others hope as well.

      Gentle Hugs,

      Maggie

    • Hi everyone,

I have been away because I have been keeping myself busy in the garden. Not the best activity to do when your in pain but I can't stop myself!! Put it this way...if i work until I can't work anymore then I dont have to worry about it until tomorrow! Anyway I just wanted everyone to know that I have been reading the posts in this thread that I started and they are very inspiring. I have been feeling a little better since the weather here is allowing me to get out and work as well as enjoy nature and all my creatures. Thanks so much for all the positive replies and know that you all have helped me through a tought time. I still have to get to the point where I can prepare for my art sale but I think I can feel it coming. It's strange how I have to wait for my body and brain to tell me when they will work!

      Chipster.  Very cool paint job.

I'm a model builder myself.  I build aircraft models.

I've got over 100 planes in the collection and well over 200 kits yet to build.

      A few of my favorites.

    • Awsome work on those Tri, Most if not all my models are either broken or have been thrown out, Also have a few hundred waiting for work. Attic has been full for years. I've switched to the Smaller scale Hot Wheels due to there size, Last count a few years ago was between 800 and 1,200 with everything from a 1/64th Scale and up!!!!

Here's another I did for a friend, I cut out the rear doors (use to be a four door) and put her back together, I'll see If I can find another pic of her put back  together, same with the cougar!!!!

Yikes!  Those are some serious numbers.  My aircraft are 1/48.  I'm running out of space, fast.

    • Thanks, Beck!

I am hanging in there, but hate living in this mess...I am packing up to move...haven't done a whole lot on that the last few days, so trying to get some more done today.

Glad to hear you had a couple of good days...this gives the rest of us so much hope to hear...have a good rest, it sounds like you've earned it.

      Gentle Hugs,
      Maggie
