    • Guest expert Nancy Stein will be answering your questions regarding parenting and raising children with special education needs.  She has over 17 years of experience in special education and currently works as a speech language pathologist at Variety Child Learning Center in Syosset, New York.

Be sure to check out her Ten Questions to ask when Choosing a Special Education Program on disaboom.com.

Feel free to begin submitting questions to this forum.  Beginning on the 21st Nancy will choose a couple of questions a day to highlight and discuss. There's no guarantee that your question will be answered, but Nancy will do her best to addess as many questions as possible.

      Thanks!

    • By the way, the questions are starting to appear in the main section of the Education forum (one level up from here).

    • Is anyone permitted to join in on those threads?   I'm not as much of an expert but I see a couple of questions posted to which I might have something useful to add.  I didn't want to step in to an "ask the expert" situation though.

    • You should probably still wait for an answer from someone official, nightengale, but when I've done stuff like this on other forums, it's cool to jump in and discuss as long as it's not a situation where you're arguing with the expert. Adding something positive and helpful though, I can't see how that would hurt! And maybe you can ask some questions of your own as well, so that I don't feel silly asking 5 billion of my own- LOL, I don't even have a kid, but I'm curious!
