Oh dear: This is my first reply to a post here on this site and already those initial p's threw me for a looI guess those are for the above colored icon line ?taskbar"? I am in a motorized wheelchair since 2003 thanks to the generosity of MDA. I have adult onset Pompe's Muscular Dystrophy and the doctor has me labelled as a paraplegic with quadriparesis. I am in a delightful stage of denial. I had no idea how screwed up I have become until I filled out a questionnaire for a research project. It appears that my caretakers in this nursing home have developed me into an almost totally helpless person, but all I focus on is what I CAN do instead of what I can't do. That would get me bawling and depressed instead of my current hopefulness and looking forward to the future. I am 67 and yet have managed to find a cyber "boyfriend". I can wax eloquent for hours so I better shut up since this box is now full. I am the most honest and openly blunt person that I have ever met. My two very most favorite subjects that are frequently avoided by most are sex and religion. Nice to meet you all. And I hope you are pleased at having met so many people in your same circumstances. I will never give up sex it isn't in my nature. Well I have been in a wheelchair since 1999 and I have learned a few things. When I came out of my coma my parents who were liveing in Washington and came down to California and took me with them back to Washington. My younger brother was a nurse in a nurseing home and that is were they dropt me off. I have been an aide and I have been a resident in nurseing homes and for me a nuseing home is just like jail. I don't blame any one for me ending up there but I beleave that nurseing homes kill people. I was a very sick boy and for a wile I needed supervision. When I got out of the nurseing home I went back to to collage and now I am the tresurer for a non profit oganization called DATO. We fix or buy people wheelchairs, for those who fell through the cracks and need this service. I live in a small town and there are few job's I can get, but for my family and freinds I do alrite, I can't complane.
