Hi,
I am a final year student at university who is studying Sociology. For my final year dissertation I had to choose a topic which interested me to write a 12,000 word essay on. In the end I chose to explore how disabled women feel about thier sexual identity, and also if this is affected by abuse. I know this is a very personal issue for most people and, honestly, I'm not sure what to expect form writing this, but I was hoping that if anyone would like to share thier own experiences with me it may aid in giving me a greater understanding when writing my dissertation. The reason I have chose to focus my attention on women is that, being one myself, I understand the pressures all women feel to conform to certain societal norms.
If anyone feels they can share anything with me on this topic I would be very grateful.

I would be glad to talk to you about this subject. I have given it a little bit of thought on my own, and since you bring it up, I am interested in exploring it further for myself. What is the way you wish to pursue this -- phone, e-mail, "private chat room" somewhere (I don't know if we even have that feature here in Disaboom)?

I think for me my sexual identity has been about a 50-50 split. Its the best way I can describe it.What am meaning that my sexuality has never been a secret or surprise to me or society { 44 ddd bra size} but what I can do with that sexuality and how far does it go. Can she have sex? Does she look normal under the clothes? etc. has always been in question. I hope that was what you were looking for.

Hi Tiffany. I am 54 years old and 10 months new to paraplegia. I was happily single before my "accident" and wonder if I will remain that way now that I'm disabled. I have had a lot of interesting comments and thoughts on the subject that I would be happy to share. Sex seems to be the main topic in the chat room so feel free to browse there.

Hi Tiffany,
I, too, received my sociology degree and would be more than agreeable to assist in your research (if you're still in your researching stages). Did you know you could create a poll for folks to take? Some people may be more comfortable with answering a poll then openly discussing their sexuality. Something to think about. If I can be of any help with your research, contact me any time. Good luck on your paper.
