    • I think our height in a wheelchair has to do with it too......often it feels like when I make people uncomfortable-they look right OVER me. Since I'm out and about with my boyfriend usually (who's also in a chair), I guess they don't have much of a choice to ask one of us for our order! LOL! But that used to happen frequently when I was growing up....even my little brother got used to politely informing them to ask ME at a really early age.

Yes, but that's probally apt to use the crutches. Oh wait... not so much now that I have the lighted castor wheels (not trying to sound snobby here) Kids are really attacted to them which is good because I work with them.

My son has those on his chair, for safety (night) and he likes them. He gets SO many positive comments especially from kids about them. "Cool wheels!" I think kids are actually more comfortable with my son than adults are. (Strange adults. Adults who know my son go right up to him and start talking to him.)

I know my lighted wheels really start conversations with people. Especially if I am on vacation somewhere. People love them and will stop and ask me where I got them or if they are just for wheelchairs. My power assist wheels are also conversation starters too.

If I feel ignored I too will let people know...lol. I'll just jump into a conversation too. My friends are awesome though!

Cool. You need to post a picture! I'd like to see those. How old am I, lol? Just like a little kid, I guess.
