I've used a variety of seating cushions. For me the best (defined as keeping my pressure sores -- usualy -- below stage 1) is the four-inch Rojo air cushion. I'm in my 'chair 15 hours a day.
So far, they have lasted for years.

I also use a Roho air cushion, and have for 15 years after trying the gels. It is by far the best for me, the air cushions the sores and also the bumps which can impact spine/discs, and I have never had a puncture problem. I do not sit in my chair all day, but enough hours for it to make a difference. There was a thread on this earlier at one point--you might try locating that. Good luck.
I just want to replace the outer cover on my cushion...present one is pretty worn....any ideas?
Joe
Ah, ROHO not ROJO!
And it can be found at http://www.therohogroup.com/medical/index.jsp
Sportaid has some cushion covers too Joe. I always check with them first-awesome customer service (and I don't get any perk for saying that-LOL!) I love endorsing them because they talked me through my first wheelchair repair on my own my first week away at college....One of the owners spent nearly an hour on the phone with me and I ended up not needing to buy anything.
I used to have a Jay and now have a Stimulite..as long as your cushion looks to keep its shape when you're out of the chair and there's no leaking/tearing going on--I'd say it's ok! Mine usually last a long time but you might want to check if there are any damage issues because many have really long warranties...I know Stimulite has replaced mine for free a couple times just for minor tears in the cells. Good luck!
Thanks Walter...I really like the Beach Scene cover!
